Protein-Packed Caramel Gingerbread Steamer

AND we’re back! After really inconsistent posting, I have mapped out the rest of 2015, and all of 2016….so we have a plan. I hope you all have been having a blessed holiday. The Christmas season is absolutely my favorite time of the year – twinkling lights, Christmas cookies, all of the love and laughter. Every year I am blown away by how one baby’s birth can have such a significant impact on the world 2000 some years later. It’s seriously awesome.


Last year, I fell back in love with one of my favorite winter drinks, the steamer. When I was a little girl, my dad used to bring me to the nearby gas station on my way home from school, sports, etc. and we would each get a warm drink. I started with cappuccino and moved on to the steamer and never looked back. Sorry coffee, we aren’t friends…yet. So this drink always brings back lots of nostalgia and cozy memories and with that, lots of happiness. Imagine my delight when I figured out I could make these little love bombs at home on the daily and save major bucks. SOOO stoked!!!

So I have been trying to be healthier, and thought I would try a spin on my regular caramel steamer and turn it unto a gingerbread muscle man. Folks, I am pretty sure I succeeded. This drink is awesome, sugar free, and packs in a great dose of protein. I love everything about it!

Protein-Packed Caramel Gingerbread Steamer

  • Servings: 1
  • Time: 5 Minutes
  • Difficulty: Easy

• 1 cup skim milk
• 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
• ½ teaspoon cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon ginger
• 1 teaspoon sugar free caramel syrup
• Whip cream – optional

• Heat milk in the microwave for 2 minutes
• Add protein powder, cinnamon, ginger, and syrup to mug with milk frother, or use this technique here.
• Top with whip cream if desired.
